Before explaining how gallbladder stones are formed and prevented, a brief introduction to bile, which is closely related to gallstones, is in order.
Where does bile come from and where does it go?
Bile is a digestive fluid. Since lipids are insoluble in water, they need the help of bile to dissolve and digest. Bile is continuously produced by the liver and contains water, bile salts, cholesterol, bile pigments, phospholipids, and other complexities. Under normal circumstances, various components of bile are dissolved in bile, but when the ratio of bile is out of balance, insoluble components, precipitation, or stones are likely to occur. Gallstones are called gallbladder stones when they grow in the gallbladder and bile duct stones when they are in the bile duct.
The gallbladder is an organ for storing and concentrating bile, which is mainly produced and continuously secreted by the liver, with as much as 800-1200ml of bile being secreted every day. Under physiological conditions, the bile secreted by the liver at rest does not enter the small intestine, but enters the gallbladder to save and concentrate it. Because the gallbladder has the function of concentrating bile, the gallbladder is prone to stone formation.
Gallbladder stones are a type of gallstones. The causes of gallstones are complex and related to a variety of factors, any factor that affects the ratio of cholesterol to bile acid concentration and causes bile stagnation can lead to stone formation. It can be simply understood as the accumulation or concentration of bile, which tends to form precipitates, so that over time, insoluble stones are formed.
Common causes.
1, related to obesity, less exercise, weight more than 15% of the normal standard, the possibility of gallstones than normal people increased by 5 times.
2.Related to chronic inflammation of the gallbladder.
3, like sweets, high-fat food and other habits easily lead to bile ratio imbalance, cholesterol is saturated. British medical research found that more than 90% of patients with gallstones have the habit of eating sweets.
4, cholesterol metabolism disorders: late pregnancy or postpartum women and high fat or patients, their blood cholesterol content is increased, cholesterol content in the bile is also increased. At this time, if the bile is stagnant and bile salts are reduced, it is very easy to form stones.
5, blind diet, do not eat breakfast: reported a large number of diet and do not eat breakfast, within four months, 1/3 of the people suffer from stones, and long-term eating irregularities, bile concentration related.
6, post-operative gallbladder function is reduced, bile stagnation, the formation of stones over time.
Why is it easy to get gallbladder stones without breakfast?
The bile in the gallbladder starts to be stored after dinner, if you don’t eat breakfast every other day, after about 12 hours of storage and concentration, the saturation of cholesterol in the bile is higher, and cholesterol crystals are easily formed, and stones are gradually formed day after day. In contrast, if you eat breakfast normally, the cholesterol will be excreted with the bile because of the contraction of the gallbladder, and the food will stimulate the secretion of bile instead of stagnating in the gallbladder, so it is not easy to form stones because of the high saturation of cholesterol in the bile in the gallbladder.
How to prevent it?
Although gallbladder stones have a good incidence of the population (obese women over 40 years old), but through the adjustment of lifestyle habits for gallbladder stone prevention still has a positive effect.
1, regular diet: breakfast should not be skipped, regular eating (three meals a day) allows the bile to be discharged regularly, so as not to be too concentrated, and therefore can prevent the formation of stones.
2, reasonable diet: avoid high-fat, high-calorie eating habits, maintain a good weight. Eating fiber-rich foods can improve the metabolism of cholesterol and help prevent the formation of stones.
3, vegetarians should be properly supplemented with lecithin: normal human cholesterol and bile salts, lecithin in a certain ratio of mixed in microcolloid suspension bile, when this ratio is destroyed, easy to form gallstones. Some vegetarians do not consume enough lecithin, and too much fiber in the vegetarian diet prevents the reabsorption of bile acids, so that the concentration of bile salts in the bile decreases, should be properly supplemented with lecithin.
4, weight control: maintain the habit of exercise, avoid prolonged sedentary, such as prolonged use of computers, watching TV for a long time after dinner, etc.
