Is the cervical cancer vaccine necessary?

Cervical cancer vaccine is necessary. Among gynecological cancers, only cervical cancer can be detected in advance through routine screening, and only cervical vaccine can be given. The cervical vaccine has only been marketed in China in recent years. At present, there are mainly bivalent, quadrivalent and nine-valent vaccines, and different vaccines have different functions. For example, the bivalent vaccine is mainly effective against HPV types 16 and 18, the quadrivalent vaccine is effective against HPV types 6, 11, 16 and 18, and the nine-valent vaccine is effective against HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58. It is important to note that the vaccine does not prevent all types of HPV infections, nor does it treat existing HPV infections, so it is best to choose the vaccine before puberty or an active sex life, but avoid the vaccine during pregnancy, while any type of vaccine can be given during breastfeeding, and it is not necessary to be tested for HPV infection before vaccination. Three doses are required. In conclusion, cervical vaccination is necessary, and even after vaccination, cervical cancer screening should be performed as usual because the current vaccine does not cover all types of HPV infection.
