Characteristics and treatment of pediatric psychogenic headache

  Headache is one of the common neurological symptoms in children, and its etiology is complex, but most of them are psychogenic headache, also called functional headache, which refers to the disease of the brain without substantial disease and caused by its dysfunction.  1.Common characteristics of psychogenic headache (1)The time of headache is uncertain, it can be any time.  (2)The degree of headache is not severe and does not affect daily activities.  (3)The site of headache is not fixed, easy to change, and can occur in all parts of the head, such as the forehead, both temporal, the top of the head, the occiput or the whole head.  (4)The occurrence and relief of headache are closely related to mental and emotional changes, often occurring under the influence of factors such as depression, mental discomfort or excessive fatigue, and relieved when the mental state improves.  (5) There are no positive signs of neurological damage in headache, but it may be accompanied by symptoms of neurological disorders such as weakness, insomnia, inattention, memory loss, depression or irritability and impatience.  2.Treatment and prevention of psychogenic headache (1)Parents should first of all understand the disease correctly and should not be overly nervous, and should not ask the child repeatedly whether the child has headache, but should take the observation method to see whether the child has headache attack.  (2)Advocate regular work and rest life, ensure sufficient sleep, reasonable diet structure, and actively participate in cultural and sports activities.  (3) When headache attacks occur, distraction, suggestion therapy and appropriate medication can be used.
