What is the choice of surgery for common bile duct stones + gallbladder stones?

Patient: Description of condition (time of onset, main symptoms, hospital visited, etc.): My mother, 59 years old, has hypertension. She was admitted to the hospital on October 21 with abdominal pain. She was admitted to Beijing Shunyi District Hospital as an emergency. In September ’10, she was hospitalized for gallbladder infection attack. After hospital treatment, the patient had jaundice with jaundice, which improved and was under control around 27th. The diagnosis was confirmed as: common bile duct stones with gallbladder stones. The doctor suggested two options:1. remove the gallbladder and exclude the common bile duct stones through laparoscopic and choledochoscopic surgery, but the time cycle should last about 2-3 months; 2. perform duodenoscopic surgery to remove the bile duct stones first, and after recuperation, laparoscopic surgery to do cholecystectomy. 1. the above two kinds of surgery, which way is better, less damage to the patient and no recurrence after surgery? 2. which one is more advantageous in terms of hospitalization time and cost? Doctor: 1. Both options are available, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. The laparoscopic one-stage surgery can be completed in one operation, but after the stone extraction, a T-tube may need to be placed in the bile duct, which will take at least 1 month to be removed, but of course, if the surgeon is skilled and precise, and the stone is completely removed, the bile duct can be directly sutured without placing a T-tube, which is the most ideal operation. However, EST is not 100% successful and has certain complications and high treatment costs. If the common bile duct is thick enough, it is more appropriate to choose laparoscopic phase I surgery.2. In summary, laparoscopic phase I surgery is more advantageous in terms of hospitalization time and cost.
