What is hpv virus

The HPV virus is a spherical, double-stranded DNA virus with no outer envelope that is transmitted mainly through sexual contact. The HPV virus is clinically divided into high-risk human papillomavirus and low-risk human papillomavirus. The low-risk types are mainly HPV type 6 and HPV type 11, which can cause a series of skin diseases such as condyloma acuminata, flat warts and infectious molluscum contagiosum when infected. High-risk HPV types include HPV type 16 and HPV type 18. These two types of HPV infection can increase the chance of cervical cancer in women and penile cancer and testicular cancer in men. Therefore, it is necessary for women to be screened for HPV once a year, especially for women who are sexually active and have cervical erosion. At this stage, there is a vaccine for HPV virus, so women who are able to do so can also get vaccinated to prevent HPV infection. If HPV infection is found, then it needs to be treated promptly. Women should be clean in their daily lives, eliminate high-risk sexual behavior, and pay more attention to personal hygiene and try not to have too close contact with people who are already infected with HPV.
