How long does it take for aminotransferase 120 to normalize on dicyclomine?

The cause of transaminase 120U/L should be identified and liver protection treatment should be combined with etiology treatment. Dicyclomine has strong enzyme lowering power and liver function can be normalized in 2-4 weeks in general, but it needs to be taken to continue consolidation and should not be discontinued immediately, and the generally recommended course of treatment is 6 months. However, it is not absolute, individual differences exist, each person’s response to the drug is different, the efficacy obtained is different, and the time needed to reduce transaminases is naturally different. Dicyclomine is suitable for elevated aminotransferases caused by chronic hepatitis, and it has obvious hepatocyte protection and certain anti-hepatitis virus effect, which is safer. Other factors that cause elevated aminotransferases are not necessarily applicable. Therefore, when transaminases of 120 U/L are found, you should not blindly use the medication, but need to promptly consult a doctor to identify whether it is caused by chronic hepatitis, and if so, you can take dicyclomine as prescribed by your doctor. It should be noted that dicyclomine should be gradually reduced and then discontinued. After achieving the effect of lowering transaminases, it should be continued for 3 months to stabilize the disease and tested for transaminases in the following month, and then discontinued if it is stable.
