The exact time for HPV11-positive virus to turn negative depends on the severity of the patient’s disease and personal constitution. Some patients can turn negative in about 1 year, but there are large individual differences. HPV11 is a low-risk type of HPV. Patients may have no clinical symptoms or may present with condyloma acuminata on the vulva, vagina, cervix or around the anus. It is a contagious disease and is mainly contracted through sexual contact. Patients need to be promptly treated with physical therapy to remove the warts, as well as with antiviral medications such as oral acyclovir tablets or topical interferon gel. Most patients with HPV11 positive can be cured in about 1 year, but it has a certain possibility of recurrence. Therefore, it is recommended that patients infected with HPV11 should be converted to negative by improving their own immunity. If warts exist, they should be treated as early as possible and still need to be reviewed regularly after surgery.
