Moderate depression has been indicated with medication, that is, in clinical practice, it is considered that moderate depression can be improved by self-adjustment and psychotherapy, however, it is difficult to fully return to a normal state. The most commonly used drugs for depression include selective 5-hydroxytryptamine reuptake inhibitors, which are paroxetine, fluoxetine, sertraline, citalopram, escitalopram, and fluvoxamine. Of course, there are also venlafaxine and duloxetine, which can also be used to improve depressed mood. However, these latter dual-channel drugs tend to have more side effects early on in the drug. Therefore, when patients take antidepressants for the first time, they are more likely to choose these selective 5-hydroxytryptamine reuptake inhibitors, because relatively these drugs have exact efficacy, and the early drug side effects are smaller and more acceptable to patients.
