Do you need to rest after cervical biopsy?

After cervical cancer screening, many women are recommended to have a cervical biopsy. The cervical biopsy requires a portion of tissue to be taken from the cervix for examination, so it is harmful to the cervix. Since there are no painful nerves on the cervix, women do not feel a lot of pain even if they are injured, so after the cervical biopsy, there will only be a series of phenomena such as vague pain in the abdomen and irregular vaginal bleeding. This phenomenon is also relatively normal, after all, the cervical biopsy has to take samples from the top of the cervix, so there is a certain trauma to the cervix, if you do not pay attention to rest after the cervical biopsy, engage in heavy physical labor, then it may lead to increased bleeding, the wound has not healed, and in serious cases, even cause cervical and uterine cavity infection. Therefore, you should not have sex for a week after the procedure, and you should only take a shower, not a tub bath, to prevent bacterial infection. For women with heavy bleeding, they need to go to the hospital for emergency treatment. Anti-inflammatory treatment will be performed to stop the bleeding. Of course, the traumatic surface of the uterus after cervical biopsy is not very large, so it will not affect the future life, so there is no need to worry too much and nervous.
