This group often belongs to the “asymptomatic gallbladder stones” or those with mild symptoms, and the gallbladder function is often normal in this group, so it is especially important to preserve the gallbladder. At present, due to the maturity and development of biliary endoscopy technology, minimally invasive endoscopic techniques can be used to remove the stones and preserve the gallbladder with less pain, less trauma and shorter hospital stay (3-4 days after surgery). More importantly, the normal functioning gallbladder is preserved, avoiding a series of complications after gallbladder removal. Indications for gallbladder preservation and extraction: normal gallbladder size and shape, gallbladder wall thickness less than 0.5 cm; the size, number and trait of stones are not necessary to preserve the gallbladder, that is, the size and number of stones do not affect the preservation of the gallbladder.
