Rheumatic fever does not belong to any of the types of allergic reactions. There are four types of allergic reactions: type I mainly refers to allergic reactions; type II is a cellular allergic reaction; type III is a vascular allergic reaction, mainly including glomerulonephritis after streptococcal infection; and type IV is a delayed allergic reaction. Rheumatic fever is a recurrent inflammatory lesion of the connective tissue of the whole body caused by streptococcal infection, which is classified as an inflammatory lesion, and the main symptoms are also mainly joint and heart involvement, manifested as arthritis and myocarditis, and some patients may also have fever, subcutaneous nodules, chorea, etc. The disease is self-limiting. During the acute phase, the symptoms of arthritis are obvious, and after anti-infection or anti-inflammatory and analgesic symptomatic treatment, most of the symptoms can disappear without leaving sequelae. If myocarditis occurs during the acute phase and is not treated in time, it may turn into chronic rheumatic heart disease.
