In general, patients with benign thyroid tumors can survive for a long time. As long as they actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment, their life expectancy will not be greatly affected, so there is no need to worry too much. The occurrence of benign thyroid tumors may be related to endocrine disorders, iodine deficiency, heredity or some congenital factors. Benign tumors usually do not invade other organs and do not metastasize. They grow slowly and are less harmful to human body, so they are more common in clinical practice. In general, benign thyroid tumors less than 2cm in diameter and without obvious discomfort usually do not require special treatment. However, if the mass is large enough to cause difficulty in swallowing or other symptoms of compression, it needs to be removed surgically in time to relieve the compression. Patients are advised to maintain a good state of mind and to eat as little stimulating food as possible, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and get a good night’s sleep.
