How is liver fibrosis treated?

Liver fibrosis is a pathological term, not a separate disease, referring to the diffuse excessive deposition of fibrous connective tissue in the liver. Continued progression of liver fibrosis can evolve into cirrhosis. Almost every disease that can cause chronicity of the liver and bile ducts can cause liver fibrosis. In our country, the most common causes are chronic hepatitis and fatty liver. Liver fibrosis is a repair response of the body to injury after necrosis or injury of liver cells, but various causes such as repeated or persistent chronic inflammation and necrosis of the liver parenchyma can lead to continuous fibroplasia of the liver and the formation of liver fibrosis, liver fibrosis and cirrhosis is a continuous development process, clinically it is difficult to distinguish clearly, accurate distinction depends on liver biopsy histopathological examination, pathologically according to liver fibrosis The pathology is divided into 0-4 stages depending on the degree of liver fibrosis, and already formed liver fibrosis or even early cirrhosis can be reversed. Anti-fibrotic treatment aims to reduce the degree of fibrosis, slow down its development, and even reverse its pathological process: 1. remove the causes: such as anti-hepatitis virus, treatment of schistosomiasis, stop drinking alcohol, etc.; 2. stop the continued development of liver fibrosis: γ-interferon, Chinese herbal medicine such as Cordyceps sinensis, Andrographis paniculata, Turtle shell, Danshen, etc. to soften the knots and activate blood circulation; 3. promote liver cell regeneration; 4. symptomatic and treatment to restore liver function.
