Pelvic inflammatory disease may cause pain on both sides of the pelvis, i.e. in the adnexal region, and therefore may lead to soreness in the hip bone. However, many orthopaedic conditions other than pelvic inflammatory disease may also cause soreness in this area. It is advisable to go to the hospital for an examination and, if orthopaedic conditions have been ruled out, a gynaecological ultrasound can also be done for identification.
