How should gallbladder cancer be treated?

At present, surgery is the only means to cure gallbladder cancer. Depending on the stage of tumor, different treatment methods are adopted. With the development of laparoscopic technology, in recent years, our hospital has adopted laparoscopic radical surgery for gallbladder cancer, the scope of which is the same as that of open surgery, and there is no difference in long-term survival compared with that of open surgery. This surgery has poor effect on stage IV and V patients, and the five-year survival rate is less than 2%. For stage IV and V patients, some people have expanded the scope of radical resection to the right half of the liver or even the right trilobar hepatectomy plus pancreaticoduodenectomy, which is a very large operation, greatly increasing the surgical trauma and risk. As for other treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, they are only adjuvant treatments and cannot achieve the purpose of radical cure, while the biological targeted therapy for gallbladder cancer is still in the research stage and cannot be promoted yet.
