Post cholecystectomy – Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction (SOD)

Postcholecystestomy Syndrome (PCS), also known as postcholecystectomy sequelae and RecurrentBiliary Tract Syndrome, is a clinical syndrome related to biliary pathology that occurs after cholecystectomy. It is generally believed that about 25%-30% of gallbladder removal patients may have transient symptoms that may disappear quickly, while about 2%-8% may require active treatment due to persistent symptoms, which are clinically believed to be caused by sphincter of Oddi dysfunction (SOD).
