How to treat hard chancre

The hard chancre is a clinical manifestation of stage I syphilis and is relatively common. What should be done when a hard chancre appears? It is recommended to improve the blood test, such as syphilis specific antibody and syphilis non-specific antibody RPR titer, to clarify the diagnosis first. If the syphilis-specific antibody and RPR titer are positive, the treatment can be carried out immediately. The treatment plan is to use 2.4 million units of benzathine penicillin for intramuscular injection on both sides of the buttocks, once a week, three times in a row for a course of treatment, and a review three months after the course of treatment. In addition to intramuscular injection of benzathine penicillin, sclerosing chancre can be treated with topical medications, such as cold compress therapy and topical anti-infective oils, such as furacilin oil and jellyfish oil.
