How long can you live with leukoplakia vulvae?

Vulvar leukoplakia can be cured with aggressive treatment and will not affect life expectancy. There are more names for vulvar leukoplakia, such as skin dystrophy and vulvar skin dystrophy, and the cause is still unclear. Vulvar leukoplakia is commonly found in three diseases: vitiligo of the vulva, sclerosing moss and precancerous lesions. The first two are benign lesions, which can be treated separately and do not affect life expectancy; the latter is precancerous, but also belongs to the early stage, and through active treatment, it will not affect patients’ lives. If patients blindly use medication, coupled with friction, repeated scratching and other stimuli, forming ulcers or untreated erosions, they should be careful of the possibility of vulvar squamous carcinoma, which may affect their life expectancy to a certain extent. The extent to which vulvar leukoplakia can develop into cancer varies from person to person and is also related to individual physical condition. Patients are recommended to take active treatment. If itching is serious, local medication can be used to improve itching symptoms according to medical prescription. If drug treatment is not effective, laser treatment or surgery can be given.
