What are the tips for ichthyosis?

1.Ichthyosis is a group of skin diseases with dry, rough and ichthyosquamous changes as the main damage, which is called as “snake skin ringworm” in Chinese medicine. 2.Ichthyosis is divided into hereditary ichthyosis and acquired ichthyosis. 3.There are four types of ichthyosis related to genetic factors: common ichthyosis (autosomal dominant common ichthyosis, sex-linked recessive ichthyosis), laminar ichthyosis, epidermolysis bullosa hyperkeratosis ichthyosis and restrictive linear ichthyosis. The course of the disease is long and often occurs at birth or shortly after birth. 4.Acquired ichthyosis is often secondary to Hodgkin’s disease, lymphosarcoma, mycosis fungoides, visceral malignancy, multiple myeloma, hypothyroidism, carotenemia, nodular disease, leprosy, severe malnutrition and other diseases. 5.Most patients with ichthyosis do not have serious dry skin and do not need to worry excessively. Mild patients only need to adjust the diet structure and use some topical drugs to moisturize and regulate skin keratinization to relieve the dry skin symptoms. More serious patients should find a dermatologist to clarify the type and cause of ichthyosis, and treat with medication under the guidance of the doctor. 6. Although hereditary ichthyosis cannot be “cured”, it can be treated to reduce the skin condition and improve the quality of life. For acquired ichthyosis, the symptoms of ichthyosis can be cured or improved by actively treating the primary disease.
