At what age does ichthyosis usually stop?

Ichthyosis is a genetically inherited disease, mostly belonging to autosomal recessive and autosomal dominant inheritance, and usually stops developing around the age of 18. There are more types of ichthyosis, and it is generally impossible to completely cure it. The area of the disease of common type ichthyosis will be basically in a fixed state around the age of 18, and it will not be more serious. However, no matter how it is treated, this disease is prone to recurrence and will carry on for a lifetime. For some patients with common type ichthyosis, it is just mainly dry skin and rough skin, which does not affect the health, so there is no need to worry too much. However, this disease has a certain probability to be inherited to the next generation. It is recommended to use less alkaline cleaning products to clean dry skin in daily life, because the surface of the skin is weak acid, alkaline cleaning products tend to destroy the stratum corneum, which tends to make the epidermis more dry and needs moisturizing especially.
