Self-regulation relaxation method is to utilize the ability of the self-regulation in one’s intention to influence bodily sensations when one is mentally concentrated, to control the body and all its parts to the ideal state of relaxation, including the hands and feet feeling warm and heavy, the abdomen feeling warm and cozy, the forehead feeling cool, the breathing being smooth, and the heart beating at an average rate. The steps of the exercise are as follows: 1. First, find a comfortable position to sit or lie down, and then inhale slowly and deeply until there is a bulging sensation in the chest. Inhale a little more and pause for a second or two before exhaling slowly. Exhale the breath slowly, pause for a moment, then inhale a second breath, and repeat the exercise 5 to 10 times. In this way, the spirit can achieve a more relaxed and concentrated state. 2. Concentrate your mind and thoughts on one of your hands, and with our thoughts, repeat slowly in your mind, “My hand will slowly become heavy and warm.” After saying this five times in your mind, you can think of the words “heavy” and “warm” when you breathe out again for about 3 to 5 minutes to produce the effect in your mind. Next, practice with the other hand. Finally, focus your thoughts on both hands at the same time, and mentally think repeatedly and slowly: “My hands will slowly feel heavier and warmer.” Repeat the thoughts “heavy” and “warm” with each exhalation. 3. When the hand exercise is completed, keep the hands in a relaxed state, and then practice the feet. Focus your mind on your feet, and repeat the thought slowly: “My feet will slowly feel heavier and warmer. After repeating this a few times, you can think “heavy” and “warm” when you exhale again for about 3 to 5 minutes, and your feet will feel heavy and warm at will. 4. Next, move the exercise to the abdomen and think, “My stomach is so warm.” Repeat the thought of warmth and comfort in the abdomen for about 3 to 5 minutes. 5. Unlike the previous exercise, if you want your forehead to feel relaxed and comfortable, you should produce a cool sensation, because if your forehead also feels warm, you will have a feeling of dizziness and bloating. Therefore, after relaxing your hands, feet, and abdomen, you will then focus on regulating the temperature of your forehead, and mentally repeat the thought: “My forehead feels cool and comfortable. ” 3~5 minutes will be able to achieve the desired effect. 6, practice to this step, we should have felt quite relaxed, breathing and heartbeat also become regular, comfortable.
