What is counseling?

Counseling is a combination of science, art, and experience. Counselors use psychological principles and methods to create a good counseling atmosphere and help visitors learn more effective ways to deal with themselves, others, and life’s confusions in order to adapt to the process of human social life. Contents of psychological counseling (a) For normal, healthy people without obvious psychological conflicts, to better understand themselves, to build on their strengths and avoid their weaknesses, and to give full play to their potentials in order to improve the quality of learning and life. (ii) Counseling for psychological adaptation: people who have various troubles in life and study, and have obvious psychological conflicts and contradictions. The purpose of the counseling is to help the applicant eliminate psychological troubles, reduce psychological pressure, and improve adaptability. (c) Counseling for psychological disorders: If a person suffers from some kind of psychological disorder that affects his/her normal study and life, the purpose of counseling is to overcome the psychological disorders and restore his/her mental health through counseling and psychotherapy.
