How the male urinary and reproductive system is composed

The prostate is a unique “mystery land” for men, it belongs to both the male urinary system and the male reproductive system, in order to be able to understand the function of the prostate, we first need to briefly understand the composition of the male urinary and reproductive system. The male urinary system includes: kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and urethra. The kidneys are the first stop of the urinary system, and they are shaped like two giant fava beans that rest on either side of the spine. The kidneys are the “waste treatment plant” of the body, producing 1.5 to 2 liters of urine per day, thereby removing excess water, electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride ions, etc.) and toxic substances from the blood. After urine is produced by the kidneys, it flows like two streams along the ureters to the bladder. When the bladder is highly filled, the kidneys actively reduce the rate of urine production to prevent the bladder from being swollen. The bladder wall is covered with longitudinal and transverse forceps, and muscle contraction pushes urine out of the bladder. The prostate gland is located immediately below the bladder and is shaped somewhat like an upside down chestnut, with the bottom up and the tip down, weighing about 20 grams. The urethra, which is connected to the bladder, passes right through the middle of the prostate. If you compare the urethra to a straw, the prostate is like a fist held at the tip of the straw. When you are suffering from prostate enlargement, this “fist” clutches the “straw” and makes it difficult for the “water” to pass through, which makes it difficult to urinate. The male reproductive system includes: testicles, epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate gland and penis. The testes are located in the scrotum, one on each side. They have two main functions: one is to produce sperm for human reproduction, and the other is to secrete the male hormone testosterone, which maintains the secondary male sexual characteristics: beard, pubic hair, throat knot and thick voice. The epididymis are two soft tissues located at the back of the testicle (you can feel them through the scrotum), like a head-down squirrel lying on the back of the testicle. The sperm produced in the testicles normally live in these two “greenhouses” and when orgasm comes, the sperm enters the vas deferens due to muscle contraction. The left and right vas deferens leave the epididymis and enter the abdominal cavity, eventually traveling to the base of the prostate gland, where they meet the seminal vesicle gland, which looks like two bunches of grapes hanging upside down behind the bladder, and merge with the seminal vesicle duct from the seminal vesicles to become the ejaculatory duct. The ejaculatory duct passes through the prostate and eventually opens into the prostatic urethra (the part of the urethra surrounded by the prostate), through which semen enters the urethra during ejaculation and mixes with seminal fluid and prostatic fluid to be expelled. A male contraceptive procedure is performed by cutting and ligating the vas deferens so that sperm cannot enter the urethra, thus achieving the purpose of contraception, but don’t worry, the sperm blocked in the testicles will be slowly absorbed by the body and will not cause any effect on the body. The penis is also an important organ of the male urinary and reproductive system, it has two roles, one for urination and the other for sexual intercourse. The penis consists of muscles, blood vessels and nerves. The human penis is skeletonless, and during sexual excitement, the small veins of the penis are temporarily closed, so the blood entering the penis from the arteries cannot flow back, which leads to the engorgement and expansion of the penis, i.e. the erectile state. Erectile function is governed by many tiny nerves that enter the penis, and these nerves are located immediately on either side of the prostate, so some surgeries on the prostate tend to damage these nerves, which can lead to erectile dysfunction (impotence). Through the above, you may have found that the prostate is an organ located inside the male body and therefore cannot be felt on the surface of the body, however, since the prostate is immediately in front of the rectum, the doctor can stick his index finger into the patient’s rectum and touch the prostate directly, which is exactly a simple and effective way to check the prostate, medically known as rectal palpation. The growth and development of the prostate is controlled by the testosterone secreted by the testes and is therefore related to the body’s sexual development. From puberty to the age of 20, the weight of the prostate gland grows from 5 grams to 20 grams, and in the decades thereafter, the volume of the prostate gland no longer changes (of course, the prostate gland still gets bigger when you have prostatitis, but this is a pathological condition), and when over the age of 50, the prostate gland of many people becomes larger again. This is what is often referred to as an enlarged prostate. Interestingly, although both prostate hypertrophy and prostate cancer are enlargements of the prostate tissue, they tend to occur in different parts of the prostate: almost all prostate hypertrophy occurs in the area of the prostate near the urethra, medically known as the migratory zone (which accounts for only 5% of the weight of the normal prostate), while nearly 90% of prostate cancers occur in the peripheral part of the prostate, medically known as the peripheral zone. This is the peripheral zone. After understanding the anatomy of the prostate, the reader may ask, what exactly is the role of the prostate? This is actually not yet well researched by the medical community, but as far as the current level of understanding goes, the prostate gland can first secrete prostatic fluid, which is involved in making up semen. Secondly, the prostate fluid contains a variety of protein hydrolases that can re-liquefy the coagulated semen, which is conducive to the success of fertilization. Although the prostate gland is small, but it can occur prostatitis, prostate enlargement as well as prostate cancer and other diseases that bring no small trouble to the body. The actual fact is that you can find a lot of people who have been in the business for a long time.
