Since entering the 21st century, with the continuous improvement of living standards, fierce competition and accelerated pace of life, people have to deal with different pressures and conflicts every day, leading to a significant increase in the incidence of various mental illnesses, such as: depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc. Although people are also paying more and more attention to mental problems, the lack of popularization of health knowledge about mental illness has led to some misconceptions about mental illness, more social prejudices and misunderstandings about mental illnesses, leading to problems such as not daring to see a psychiatrist, fear of being known by others after seeing a psychiatrist, etc., which again increases psychological stress and leads to social maladjustment. I am now on the current common in society, the misconceptions about mental illness is introduced to everyone, I hope that we come to popularize mental health knowledge, to contribute to everyone’s mental health: mental illness is equivalent to neurosis: people often think that this is the same disease, in fact, these are two completely different performance of the disease, heavy mental illness is generally known as psychosis main performance thinking haphazard, behavior disorders, etc., mainly For patients with schizophrenia and mania, the department of psychiatry often requires inpatient treatment; light psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc. are treated in psychiatric clinics and can be treated on an outpatient basis; however, with standardized treatment, most of them can be well controlled. Neurological diseases are organic lesions in the nervous system, such as epilepsy, cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, hemiplegia, Parkinson’s disease, etc., and are seen in the neurology or surgery departments. Mental illnesses are manifested as nonsense, moody and unpredictable is “crazy”: in fact, only a small percentage of psychiatric patients have this performance. Some patients may show abnormalities in some aspects such as sensation, awareness, memory, attention, intelligence, emotion or behavior, while other aspects are basically normal, especially in the early stage, the symptoms are not obvious. As for depression, anxiety, insomnia and other psychological disorders often do not have the above manifestations, and non-professionals are generally unable to determine whether they are abnormal. Mental illness patients have a tendency to violence: many people are afraid to approach psychiatric patients, think that as long as the psychiatric patients have a tendency to violence, in fact, only a certain type of psychiatric patients have a tendency to violence, such as mania, paranoia, etc., does not mean that all psychiatric patients have a tendency to violence, can not be generalized. Mental illnesses cannot be cured: most mental illnesses at present, as long as early detection, early treatment, standardized intervention, the prognosis is often satisfactory. However, for many reasons, treatment is not timely, not standardized, or even not treated, resulting in the disease missing the best opportunity for treatment, leaving sequelae or harming themselves or others, which is regrettable. Psychotherapy can solve all mental illnesses: Many psychiatric patients hope to solve their problems by relying solely on psychotherapy, which is a one-sided view that exaggerates the role of psychotherapy. For example, schizophrenia and mood disorders, their occurrence is not only related to psychological factors, but also to the dysregulation of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, so the treatment should also be carried out with a combination of medication and later psychotherapy. Friends, for the sake of our mental health, the health of our families and friends, and the progress and harmony of society, let’s join hands to promote mental health knowledge, eliminate social prejudice, and hold up a blue sky for people with mental illnesses and take action!
