Three discussions on the treatment of macular degeneration in Chinese medicine

Regarding the treatment of macular degeneration by Chinese medicine, I have published two articles on my personal website. At present, as more and more people are suffering from macular degeneration, and more and more people are looking for me to treat macular degeneration, I will further elaborate on the treatment of macular degeneration by Chinese medicine. Macula is a very important part in the eye, located on the retina. Once macular lesion occurs, no matter it is inflammation, hemorrhage, edema, exudation, or macular atrophy, mechanization, degeneration, fissure, it will seriously affect the visual function of people, thus the central vision of the affected eye decreases, the visual object is deformed, the visual object becomes smaller or the visual object is discolored, or even blind in serious cases. It brings great inconvenience and pain to patients. Macular lesion is the abbreviation of macular lesion. It includes macular hemorrhage, macular edema, macular anterior membrane, macular fissure, “mesoplasia” (central placoid chorioretinopathy), “meso-exudate” (central exudative chorioretinopathy), acute posterior lenticular pigment epitheliopathy, age related macular degeneration (age-related dry macular degeneration and age-related wet macular degeneration), retinal macular clefting, etc. The causes of macular degeneration are multifaceted and can be caused by diseases of the eye itself or by systemic diseases. For example, diabetes mellitus can cause diabetic retinopathy with hemorrhagic exudate and microangioma, and chronic nephritis can cause nephrogenic retinopathy. Hypertension can cause blockage of retinal arteries or veins in the fundus, hemorrhage, edema, and cystic degeneration of the retina and macula. In addition, genetic causes can also cause retinitis pigmentosa and other diseases secondary to macular degeneration and atrophy. TCM treatment of ophthalmology adopts a combination of local and systemic dialectic, and uses a combination of Chinese medicine’s internal organs dialectic, Wei-Qi-Ying-Blood dialectic, six meridians dialectic and ophthalmology’s internal and external obstruction dialectic and five chakras dialectic. If the diagnosis and treatment are proper and timely, most of the hemorrhage, edema, inflammation and exudation in the macula can be improved or cured. The vision of the affected eye can be improved or restored to normal to different degrees; for those who have not yet caused retinal detachment by macular fissure, the macular fissure can often be cured through longer treatment. However, for the degenerative and atrophic lesions in the macula, there is no good way to stabilize and control the further development of the disease.
