What are the clinical manifestations of gallbladder cancer?

Gallbladder cancer may not have any symptoms in the early stage, and sometimes even ultrasound may not reveal it, or the ultrasound may only show a limited thickening of the gallbladder wall or polyp-like lesions. If the tumor gradually develops and causes bile duct obstruction, the patient will have yellow eyes, dark urine or even tea-like color, and itchy skin. In some patients with combined gallbladder stones, symptoms of cholecystitis such as right upper abdominal pain and fever may occur. If an enlarged gallbladder or mass can be felt, it indicates that the tumor has reached the middle or late stage. ultrasound is the preferred means of examination, while CT and MRCP (magnetic resonance imaging) can not only determine the mass on the wall of gallbladder, but also understand whether the tumor has metastasis to the liver, whether the nearby lymph nodes are enlarged, whether the bile ducts are invaded, and whether there is obstruction, which can help further diagnosis and develop surgical plan.
