What do you know about “Intragastric Hydrospheresis” and “Gastric Banding”?

Intragastric water balloon dieting, i.e., weight loss by placing water balloons or water bladders in the stomach, has been approved by the FDA, i.e., the Food and Drug Administration, in the United States and can be used clinically, but has not yet been approved by the SFDA in China. The principle of weight loss is equivalent to putting a balloon made of special materials into the stomach, filling the balloon with water to form a water bladder, which holds up the stomach and creates a feeling of fullness. There is a gap between the water sacs so that food can travel downward, and while eating it is able to hold the stomach up, leaving the patient in a feeling of fullness and controlling the amount of food eaten. The gastric band bariatric surgery used to be performed by strapping or banding the stomach to reduce the amount of food eaten. Gastric banding has been phased out and is still performed in only a very few countries around the world. Gastric banding has certain drawbacks because the placement of a gastric band, i.e., a band of special material inside the body, can lead to complications over time, such as corrosion of the stomach by the band, causing gastric fistula, etc. Therefore, this procedure has basically been eliminated from being done.
