We are afraid of drugs, but we do not know that it is not only drugs that are addictive and that addiction brings great harm. There are other substances that have the scientific name of psychoactive substances. They are a class of chemical substances that can affect human mind and behavior and have a dependence-causing effect, which people use to obtain or maintain certain special psychological and physiological states. According to the pharmacology, they can be divided into: 1, central nervous system depressants: can inhibit the central nervous system, such as barbiturates, benzodiazepines, alcohol, etc. 2, central nervous system stimulants: can excite the central nervous system, such as caffeine, amphetamines, cocaine, etc. 3, marijuana is the world’s oldest and most famous hallucinogen, moderate inhalation or consumption can make people euphoric, increasing the dose can make people enter a dream and fall into a deep and refreshing sleep, the main component of △ 9 – tetrahydrocannabinol. 4, hallucinogens: can change the state of consciousness or perception, such as lysergic acid diethylamide, cactus toxin, etc. 5, opioids: natural, synthetic or semi-synthetic opioids, such as heroin, morphine, opioids, methadone, dihydroarbitorphine, pethidine, buprenorphine, etc. 6, volatile solvents: such as acetone, phencyclidine, etc. 7, tobacco. Some people will be for some are drugs, some are drugs, why put together? Because once abused, the harm of addiction is as terrible! Addiction is a progressive, chronic, relapsing brain disease, whose main characteristics are the loss of control of self, impulsive, persistent use of psychoactive substances, without treatment, there is a tendency to worsen (progressive); is a long-term process (chronic); stop using for a period of time, and in some cases will be used again (relapse). It is a group of cognitive, behavioral, and physiological syndromes that indicate that individuals continue to use addictive substances despite understanding the obvious problems associated with their use, and that self-medication results in increased tolerance, withdrawal symptoms, and compulsive drug-seeking behavior. There are too many bloody examples of this in my work! A tramadol addict’s usual amount of abuse in a day: 134 tablets. All addicts are described as a demon who doesn’t need to eat, doesn’t need to sleep, just needs the drug, and can do anything with it! There are also withdrawal symptoms that “no one understands”. Under the strong psychological craving, once the drug is not supplied, blood pressure rises, pulse rate increases, body temperature rises, pupils dilate, runny nose, tremors, diarrhea, vomiting, insomnia; inexplicable musculoskeletal pain, inexplicable ants, abdominal pain, poor appetite, weakness and fatigue, sneezing, chills and fever, etc. Is it scary? What’s even scarier: Substance addiction takes a huge toll on the patient! A mouthful of rotten teeth; wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt all year round is still too dry to participate in any activities; no family history of young men in their early twenties have diabetes; serious calcium deficiency, osteoporosis so immobile that some patients have even shrunk 12 cm in height for this reason; drug abuse in large quantities, excessive, high after indulging in infectious diseases (syphilis, AIDS, etc.); convulsions; low potassium and coma. Life is at stake …… leads to a series of psycho-psychiatric disorders: acute intoxication, toxic delirium, dementia, amnesia, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, sexual dysfunction, sleep disorders, etc. Even personality change, gradual loss of social function, and eventually towards crime …… injury to self-inflicted incidents occur frequently, social unrest, and the herd effect triggers a dramatic increase in addiction groups! Substance addiction is about to bring a disaster, and it is urgent that we stop this disaster!
