Can a recurrent sore throat for a long time be cancer?

  Long-term recurrent sore throat has more etiologies, mostly seen in inflammatory diseases, and is not usually caused by cancer in the throat.  Long-term recurrent sore throat is clinically common in chronic throat inflammation, which is related to triggers such as acid reflux, smoking, alcohol consumption, snoring during sleep, etc. It often manifests as symptoms such as pain in the throat, itching and discomfort in swallowing. Usually, the symptoms of sore throat can be gradually relieved after removing the triggers. Cancer of the throat usually manifests as throat discomfort and foreign body sensation in the throat, with a tendency of gradual aggravation, accompanied by clinical manifestations such as dysphagia, dyspnea, hoarseness, etc. The course of the disease develops quickly, and patients will have symptoms such as general weakness and indigestion in a short period of time, but rarely will there be recurrent sore throat for a long time, and the diagnosis can be confirmed by combining with relevant clinical examination.  Avoid eating spicy and irritating food in daily life, preferably a light diet, and drink more water to keep the throat moist to improve the situation of sore throat.
