Long-term cold – chronic laryngitis? It’s actually asthma

Patient: I had a cold a week ago! But the cold got better or a lot of snot, mainly the throat is very uncomfortable, a lot of phlegm can’t help coughing! (Pulmonary function and excitation test: positive) Hospital respiratory medicine: Many patients come to the hospital with similar symptoms, thinking they have had a cold for a long time, or have chronic laryngitis. In fact, they are suffering from asthma. According to the diagnostic criteria of asthma, asthma can be diagnosed if there are symptoms such as chronic cough, chest tightness, uncomfortable tightness of the throat, and the bronchodilator test or excitation test is a positive result. In addition, a history of allergic rhinitis further supports the diagnosis of asthma. This condition can be completely controlled after anti-inflammatory and asthma treatment, and the dosage can be reduced or stopped after 1-2 months of stabilization with complete control of symptoms (without any daytime or nighttime cough or chest tightness symptoms).
