How to treat lactic acidosis

The treatment of lactic acidosis is as follows: 1. Actively treat primary diseases, such as cardiopulmonary dysfunction, vascular obstruction, shock, anemia, asphyxia, carbon monoxide poisoning, etc.; 2. Correct acidosis and disorders of water-electrolyte metabolism, such as alkaline supplementation, give 5% sodium bicarbonate, and stop alkaline infusion when pH>7.25 to avoid alkalosis. The speed of alkaline supplementation should not be too fast and the amount of alkaline supplementation should not be too much, otherwise carbon dioxide will not be easily discharged and aggravate hypoxia and intracranial acidosis; 3. Pay attention to rehydration and correct dehydration rapidly, rehydration and expansion can improve tissue perfusion, correct shock and diuretic acid drainage. Replenish saline to maintain adequate cardiac output and tissue perfusion. The amount of rehydration should be determined according to the patient’s cardiopulmonary function and dehydration; 4. administer oxygen and potassium, perform hemodialysis, tracheotomy or artificial ventilator oxygenation if necessary, and supplement potassium as appropriate according to the acidosis, blood glucose or potassium level.
