Does neonatal metabolic acidosis heal on its own?

Metabolic acidosis in neonates is not self-curing and requires aggressive treatment for the primary cause, with clinical cure achieved as the primary cause is eliminated.
If the metabolic acidosis is not severe, timely and regular treatment will not usually affect the growth and development of the newborn. If the metabolic acidosis is severe or prolonged, it may cause damage to the brain and kidneys of the newborn and therefore requires prompt treatment to be cured.
