Acid reflux in the stomach

Acid reflux in the stomach is caused by too much stomach acid, which is commonly found in the following cases: 1, eating indigestible food, too much sweet food, or when drinking highly concentrated tea or coffee, it will stimulate a large secretion of stomach acid and stimulate the gastric mucosa, thus causing the symptoms of acid reflux; 2, insufficient gastrointestinal digestive power, which prolongs the gastric emptying time, and at the same time, the patient’s own stomach and esophagus original clearance function decreases, which also lead to excessive gastric acid, thus causing a reflux situation; 3. Diseases such as duodenal ulcer, reflux esophagitis, gastrinoma, chronic gastritis, etc. can lead to increased secretion of gastric acid and gastrin due to weakened mucosal defense mechanisms and inability to inhibit gastric acid secretion, resulting in acid reflux. Patients with frequent acid reflux should try to eat less and more meals, avoid overeating, avoid eating cold and spicy stimulating food, quit smoking, alcohol, strong tea, coffee and carbonated drinks that are harmful to the stomach, etc. Those with severe symptoms need to improve gastroscopy to clarify the cause of the disease. Treatment can be applied to inhibit gastric acid secretion with omeprazole and cimetidine, and to protect gastric mucosa with bismuth and aluminum thioglycollate, neutralize gastric acid with sodium bicarbonate, and promote gastric power and improve indigestion with domperidone and cisapride to relieve symptoms.
