Why am I depressed at one time and excited at another?

People often ask “I seem to have a problem, mood like a roller coaster, some time unhappy, sullen and even do not want to live, and another time happy as if to fly, the mood is particularly good?”. . In fact, human emotions are always like waves of ups and downs, even if there are periods of flat as water, it is only a relatively stable state. So, when is the mood down to depression, and when is the excitement happy mania? Or maybe you are suffering from a “bipolar disorder”? When is it time to see a mental health doctor? The following can be used as a reference. First, how is your social functioning? Do your emotional problems affect your daily social functioning? Do you feel that you are particularly distant from your friends and family anymore, or that you are nosy? Or even had conflicts with people that led to lawsuits? Are you still going to work on a regular basis? How are you behaving at home? Do you lose your temper particularly easily? Are you making demands that your family can’t meet? Next is your family. Does anyone in your family suffer from mental illness? Such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, bad mood or alcohol addiction? Are you not feeling quite normal yourself? And has it been going on for some time? If the answer to many of these questions is yes, then it is best to see a mental health practitioner and undergo a systematic evaluation. In contrast to the depressive episode mentioned earlier, a manic episode is the other extreme of mood and is distinctly different from the usual happy one, often without corresponding life events. There are often early manifestations that precede the appearance of overt mania. These include high energy, significantly less sleep, but no fatigue, always busy; significantly increased speech, sometimes speaking so fast that the words are incomprehensible; decreased judgment and increased impulsivity; a good sense of self or even exaggerated; reckless investments; and increased sexual needs. Tendency to lose temper, excitement, always very happy. Of course there are other manifestations, if you find someone around you with these manifestations, you should be more concerned about them. If someone around us points out that we have these manifestations, we should listen carefully and consider seeing a mental health doctor.
