What is the general knowledge of functional vocal disorders

  I. Classification There are five types: hysterical aphasia, habitual vocal disorder, pseudoacoustics during the change of voice, voice abuse and dysphonia after laryngeal surgery.  II. Clinical characteristics Characteristics of each type: 1. Hysterical hoarseness: sudden loss of voice or aphasia, voice quality for whispering, no previous history of laryngeal disease. Examination may reveal that the vocal folds cannot be inwardly retracted, but the vocal folds can be inwardly retracted when coughing. Habitual vocal disorder: persistent hoarseness even after acute inflammation of the larynx has healed, characterized by compensatory inward retraction of the pseudovocal cords.  3.Vocal change phase pseudophonia: gradual or sudden occurrence of larynx during the vocal change phase, unstable tone, may have abnormal high tone. It is commonly known as boy-girl tone.  4, voice abuse: for long-term intermittent fluctuating vocal disorder, caused by excessive use of voice. The vocal tone is low and the larynx is painful when speaking.  5.Vocal disorder after laryngeal surgery: unstable pronunciation, good and bad, vocal cord spasm, ventricular band substitution. More laryngeal pain when speaking.  III. Treatment principles Psychotherapy: Remove the patient’s psychological barriers.  Voice quality: implication therapy is the main treatment, there can be a variety of methods, including vocal training, voice masking vocal training and voice correction instrument feedback therapy, local massage, acupuncture, etc.
