There are many reasons for swelling of the hand, both physiological and pathological.
Physiological is commonly seen during pregnancy, when the hands become more watery and swollen under the influence of hormones. Common causes of pathological swelling of the hands include rheumatic diseases, chronic joint diseases, skin diseases, trauma, and diseases that cause disturbances in fluid metabolism throughout the body. In addition, some surgical or medical operations may also cause swelling of the hands.
