How should colon polyps be treated?

With the popular use of colonoscopy, the detection rate of colon polyps has increased significantly. If a polyp is found in the intestine once colonoscopy is performed, regardless of the type of polyp, polyps smaller than 2 cm can be removed directly, killing two birds with one stone, which is one of the benefits of colonoscopy; polyps larger than 2 cm generally cannot be removed under colonoscopy, and tissue specimens can be taken for pathological examination first, and then resection surgery can be done under laparoscopy. The specimens after resection are subjected to rapid pathological examination again, and the resection can be further expanded if cancerous lesions are already present. Although only adenomatous polyps have the highest association with colorectal cancer, other types of intestinal polyps cannot completely exclude the possibility of cancer, plus the polyps themselves can cause abdominal discomfort, so most experts advocate removing the polyps. Clinical observation shows that colon polyps are easy to recur, how to prevent them? First of all, we should develop good living habits, eat less spicy, barbecue, pickled, fried and meat, and keep in a relaxed mood, in addition, we can take oral Chinese medicine to prevent recurrence.
