Hepatitis C can be completely cured! Classical interferon therapy is still the mainstay of hepatitis C treatment in China, but direct antiviral drugs have brought a boon to the majority of cirrhotic patients, patients who have failed interferon therapy and those who cannot tolerate interferon. The overall cure rate is as high as 90-95% or more, and a complete cure has been achieved. It should be noted that, firstly, the drugs must be used according to the genotype; secondly, for some patients, the drugs still have certain adverse reactions and must be applied under the guidance of a doctor, especially for patients with cirrhosis of the liver; thirdly, the drugs have interactions with certain medications, such as medications for the treatment of psychiatric disorders, and are not suitable for simultaneous administration.
