Peripheral neuropathies do not affect the patient’s ultimate life expectancy. If the peripheral neuropathy is simple, it will only cause sensory and motor deficits in the area it innervates and will not affect the patient’s level of health. However, it is important to note that many peripheral neuropathies are associated with other systemic diseases, such as motor neuron disease, in which both upper and lower motor neurons are damaged, and central lesions in addition to peripheral neuropathies, with a life expectancy ranging from 1 to 10 years. In the case of peripheral neuropathies associated with immune system diseases and hematologic diseases, the patient’s survival is judged according to whether the patient has been properly treated, for example, in monoclonal gammaglobulinemia, the patient survives between six months and three years.
