Thyroid nodules should be detected and prevented early

The initial stage of thyroid nodules may not be painful or itchy, which is why they are often overlooked by patients who fail to actively detect and treat the condition. Are thyroid nodules serious? Is it okay if it doesn’t hurt or itch? Thyroid nodules are one of the closest diseases to cancer, and they can be very dangerous. A painless nodule is more frightening than a nodule that is clearly felt. Although the incidence and detection rate of thyroid nodules are extremely high, the awareness of thyroid nodules is very low because most of them have no symptoms at the initial stage, and the survey found that the effective treatment rate of nodules is less than 5%, and thyroid cancer caused by neglecting treatment and improper treatment occurs frequently. The detection rate of thyroid nodules is getting higher and higher. The detection rate of thyroid nodules is about 4%-7% by palpation in urban population, 20%-60% by ultrasound, and over 50% by ultrasound in urban residents over 50 years old. Benign thyroid nodules have the potential to become malignant, and the probability of malignancy is about 1-10%. The distance between thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer is this 1-10% probability. So what are the symptoms of thyroid nodules? 1. Thyroid nodules are mostly found in middle-aged women and can be single or multiple, and can be benign or malignant. Even if the initial stage is benign, it may develop into malignant (thyroid cancer) due to the rapid development of the disease. 2. 3. At the later stage of nodule development, calcification may appear and compress the trachea and laryngeal nerve, resulting in a series of symptoms such as hoarseness, difficulty in swallowing and difficulty in breathing, which seriously affects people’s normal work and life. 4. Improper surgery or medication for nodules can lead to complications such as hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism crisis, which require repeated treatment or long-term medication. In daily life, try to avoid any possible stimuli, do not eat too much spicy and stimulating food, do not smoke and drink, do not often irritable, angry, etc., to avoid endocrine disorders caused by emotional distress. Pay attention to regular medical checkups to detect the disease early and understand the progress of the disease so as to conduct regular review.
