Wang Suhong: Before communicating, our teachers need to be more enthusiastic with parents with ADHD, because they must have already had a lot of headaches with their children and are eager for teachers’ help. It is important for parents to understand their role in their child’s education. Instead of rushing to complain to the parents about what is wrong with their child or what is disruptive in the classroom, tell them what is interesting about the child at school or what he is doing well. This way the parent will think that the teacher knows our child, trust is built, and it will be easier to accept the teacher’s suggestions. In order for parents to take a more active role in the communication, teachers can guide parents to make suggestions about their child’s problems.
