Early stage esophageal cancer has a high five-year survival rate after treatment. In Japan, early esophageal cancer refers to superficial esophageal cancer, which grows in the mucosal layer or submucosal layer, and some patients may have lymph node metastasis, but because it is relatively superficial, it is called superficial esophageal cancer. Early stage esophageal cancer in China mainly refers to confined to the intramucosal layer without lymph node metastasis, and the five-year survival rate of surgical resection and endoscopic resection is high, up to more than 90% or even close to 100%. If some of the early esophageal cancer has developed lymph node metastasis, it will affect the five-year survival rate.
