Inflammatory lesions of subcutaneous tissue are collectively called lipofuscinosis, which is a sterile inflammation of the lipid membrane in which fat cells undergo degeneration, necrosis or even infiltration and destruction. The etiology, symptoms, examination and treatment of lipofuscinosis are as follows: 1. Physical: local inflammatory lesions caused by trauma, or drug, chemical or cold stimulation; 2. Chemical: necrosis or inflammatory reaction of subcutaneous fat due to abnormal blood levels of pancreatic lipase, resulting in subcutaneous nodules and other lesions; 3. Infectious: bacterial or mycobacterial infection may lead to abnormalities in subcutaneous fat and the appearance of nodules or plaques; 4. Vasculitis: inflammatory diseases of blood vessels such as erythema nodosum may involve subcutaneous tissues and inflammatory reactions; 5. Connective tissue diseases: diseases such as lupus erythematosus and scleroderma may involve subcutaneous tissues and inflammatory reactions such as nodules or plaques under the skin; 6. Hormonal changes: systemic application of large doses of corticosteroids may, after sudden reduction or discontinuation appear local skin redness, pain, subcutaneous nodules and other discomfort; 7, tumors: various lymphomas or metastatic cancers are prone to secondary lipofuscinosis and subcutaneous nodules or redness symptoms; 8, other: some primary lymphocytic lipofuscinosis of unknown origin, etc. may cause inflammatory reactions in subcutaneous tissues. II. Symptoms: Recurrent nodules and plaques may appear under the skin, and local atrophy of adipose tissue may occur after subsidence, which may involve other organs and tissues, such as liver, small intestine, peritoneum, etc., and even rupture or necrosis of adipose tissue may occur. Examination: Lipofuscinosis can be diagnosed by pathological examination. Laboratory tests such as complete blood count, liver function, and kidney function can also be used to assess whether other damage is present. Treatment: 1. Removal of the cause: It is recommended to clarify the cause and remove it in the hospital to keep away from all kinds of undesirable triggers; 2. Drug selection: Antibiotics and other immunosuppressive drugs can be used under the guidance of a doctor to relieve symptoms, and glucocorticoids, such as prednisone, can be used to relieve subcutaneous nodules and fever symptoms; non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as aspirin and indomethacin, can be used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation reactions; and adjuvant therapy with tetracycline, heparin, and hyaluronidase.
