What does liposarcoma mean?

Liposarcoma is a malignant mesenchymal tumor derived from adipose tissue.
The etiology of liposarcoma is not clear, and it may be related to hematoma, trauma and viral infection, etc. The typical clinical manifestation is a painless and slowly enlarging soft tissue mass. The clinical manifestations of this disease are not specific, and the tumor is usually detected only when it increases in size and causes pressure or invasion of other organs, so most of the diagnosis is already in the middle or late stage.
Liposarcoma is usually diagnosed by imaging and pathologic examination. The main treatment for this disease is radical surgical resection, supplemented by radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
It is important to note that liposarcoma patients can reduce the adverse effects of the disease through “early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment”, and it is recommended that patients build up confidence in treatment. If there is any discomfort, patients should seek medical treatment in time.
