Chinese medicine has long recognized the relationship between psychological factors and the development of cancer, and attaches great importance to the relationship between psychological conflicts caused by mental stimuli and the occurrence of diseases. Chinese medicine refers to psychological factors as emotions and categorizes them into seven emotions, namely happiness, anger, worry, thought, grief, fear and fright. Too much or too little of the seven emotions can cause the malfunction of qi and blood in the body and the dysfunction of the internal organs, which can also lead to the occurrence and development of tumors, and emotional therapy can play an important role in tumor treatment. In my clinical work, I found that abnormal emotions are closely related to the occurrence of common cancers such as breast cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, intestinal cancer and esophageal cancer. Clinical studies have shown that: people who are chronically depressed and introverted are much more likely to develop stomach cancer than healthy people; among young people who develop lung cancer, those who are mentally stressed are prone to develop lung cancer; and psychological factors are significantly correlated with the occurrence of breast cancer and other cancers. For example, I once met a patient, male, as old as I am, who was found to have advanced lung cancer, but he persisted well during the two years we treated him and is doing well now. During his illness, his lover took care of him every day, which was quite stressful, plus he sometimes lost his temper with his lover when he was upset or had a hard time with the treatment. His lover always put up with him. A year later, his lover felt uncomfortable with his stomach and said that he should have a gastroscopy to check it out, but it was stomach cancer. This is a typical example of cancer caused by emotion. All these show that patients with abnormal emotion have increased susceptibility to cancer, so we should pay attention to emotional factors in tumor prevention and treatment. Emotional and mental factors have great relevance to the prognosis of tumor patients, and abnormal emotion can accelerate tumor deterioration. On the contrary, an optimistic mental state can prolong the survival time and improve the quality of life. At the same time, cancer patients undergo great changes both physiologically and psychologically after the onset of cancer, so we should pay more attention to the emotional and mental changes of cancer patients and use a positive state of mind to overcome tumors. Chinese medicine plays an important role in regulating the mood and spirit of cancer patients. Long-term clinical practice proves that using methods such as de-stressing the liver and Qi, removing blood stasis, and calming the mind can alleviate the abnormal mood of patients with breast cancer, stomach cancer and liver cancer, thus alleviating clinical symptoms and improving the quality of life. Establish a positive attitude towards life, and at the same time, together with the emotional therapy of Chinese medicine, we believe we can accompany you to overcome cancer together!
