Recently, among outpatients and inpatients, some of them have been diagnosed with adenocystitis after cystoscopic biopsy for reasons such as hematuria and recurrent urinary tract infections, and some of them have been consulted for adenocystitis. We would like to summarize some of the knowledge about this disease and hope to give you some help. Adenoid cystitis is a benign lesion caused by chronic bladder irritation factors such as urinary tract infection, obstruction, and stones that cause adenoidal epithelial hyperplasia of the bladder mucosa. The normal human bladder mucosa is composed of migratory epithelium, but under the stimulation of various physical and chemical factors such as inflammation and obstruction and other chronic factors, the local mucosal tissue evolves into glandular epithelium, which leads to adenoid cystitis. Adenoid cystitis is prevalent in the young and middle-aged female population and is often misdiagnosed as a urethral syndrome. According to recent studies, adenocystitis is a pre-cancerous lesion and if left untreated, about 4% of patients will develop bladder cancer in a few years. Our hospital takes the following treatment measures for these diseases: 1. Holmium laser treatment under cystoscopy to remove the bladder mucosa that has already been lesioned, 2. Intermittent intravesical infusion of some chemicals to inhibit further glandular epithelial growth, and 3. Periodic review of cystoscopy to observe the changes in the bladder mucosa. I hope you can point out the inadequacies and we can learn and improve together.
