My personal recommendation is: removal of the gallbladder The reasons are: 1, although there are no symptoms temporarily, but in the future the chance of abdominal pain and other symptoms increase year by year, and the longer the gallbladder stones, the greater the possibility of gallbladder lesions, gallbladder stones will generally gradually increase, and even if there are no symptoms, if the gallbladder stones increase to 2 or 5 cm or the history of more than 10 years, due to the relatively greater chance of cancer, also 2, after pregnancy, the body estrogen and progesterone increase a lot, the contraction function of the gallbladder decreases, bile is easy to stagnate in the gallbladder, coupled with the domestic tradition of strengthening nutrition during pregnancy, often large fish and meat, these are high-risk factors for the onset of acute cholecystitis; 3, once the acute cholecystitis in pregnancy, the treatment will be cast, the use of drugs due to fear of adverse effects on the fetus, therefore is very limited. This is often a dilemma for pregnant women and their families. Even if the puncture and drainage is effective, it is generally recommended to remove the drainage tube when the gallbladder is removed, which means that the drainage tube will be carried throughout the pregnancy and even during breastfeeding, which will cause great distress to life. If faced with surgery, it is completely unpredictable how much surgical trauma and anesthesia will affect the fetus; 4. Of course, if prophylactic cholecystectomy is performed, the surgery itself is risky, but laparoscopic cholecystectomy is now very mature, and the chance of serious complications is far less than the possible disturbance of pregnancy with gallbladder stones; 5. Finally, it is worth reminding that this is only the author’s personal opinion, there are no relevant treatment guidelines at home and abroad that recommend prophylactic cholecystectomy before pregnancy. I plan to do a topic and believe that more accurate and reliable information and opinions will be available in a few years.
