Spleen health and health
I. Physiological functions of the spleen.
Mainly transporting and transforming; ascending and clearing; regulating blood.
1. The spleen transports and transforms: transports, transports; transforms, digests and absorbs.
①Transportation of water and grain: digestion of food, absorption and transmission of water and grain essence.
Three stages.
A. Helping the gastrointestinal tract to break down food into its two parts, essence and dregs – digestion.
B, helping the gastrointestinal tract to absorb the water and grain essence – absorption.
C. Transporting the absorbed water and grain essence to the whole body–transfer.
The Spleen helps the Stomach Qi to consume the water. The spleen helps the stomach to consume the water and grain. If the spleen does not transfer, the water and grain in the stomach cannot be consumed.”
Suwen Five Organs” “Drinking into the stomach, overflowing essence, upward transmission to the spleen, spleen qi disperses essence, upward return to the lungs”
Su Wen Qi Qi Qi Lun” “The five flavors enter the stomach and are hidden in the spleen, which moves its essence”
Suwen symposium “the spleen for the stomach to move its fluids also”
②Transportation of water-liquid: refers to the absorption, transfer and distribution of water-liquid. It refers to the role of the spleen in absorbing and distributing fluids and preventing the accumulation of fluids in the body.
A. The body absorbs water and liquid through the spleen and transforms it to distribute it throughout the body to play the role of nourishment and moistening.
B. When the transport and transformation function of the spleen is imbalanced, water and fluid cannot be distributed and become stagnant in the body, resulting in pathological products such as dampness, phlegm, and drinking, or edema.
In Su Wen Zhi Zhen Yao Da Lun, “All dampness, swelling and fullness belong to the spleen”.
Spleen deficiency generates dampness, the source of phlegm production in the spleen and stomach, and the mechanism of occurrence of spleen deficiency edema.
2, the main ascending and clearing: ascending, the movement characteristics of the spleen qi, “spleen qi main ascending and propagating”. Clear, refers to the water and grain essence substance.
The rise of clear refers to the absorption of water and grain essence and other nutrients and upward transmission in the heart, lungs, head and eyes, through the role of the heart and lungs to produce Qi and blood, to nourish the whole body. Therefore, it is said that “the spleen is healthy by ascending”. Rise and fall is a pair of contradictory movements of the qi of the internal organs. The rise and fall of the spleen is opposite to the fall of the stomach.
(1) The rise and fall of the internal organs are coordinated and balanced to keep the internal organs of the body in a relatively constant position.
② the spleen’s rising and clearing function is normal water and grain essence can be absorbed and transported normally; spleen qi rises and develops so that the internal organs do not sag; if the spleen does not rise and clear, water and grain cannot be transported, and there is no source of qi and blood production.
3, the main blood unification: unification, that is, unification, control. That is, the spleen has the function of regulating the blood running in the meridians to prevent overflow out of the veins.
The “Golden T” Note: “the blood of the five viscera and six bowels, all rely on the spleen to regulate”.
The main mechanism of the spleen’s blood control is mainly the solidifying effect of qi.
The reason why the spleen can regulate blood is because the spleen is the source of biochemistry of qi and blood.
The role of qi is to promote, warm, defend, and hold the blood.
In the book of “The essential reading of medical science”, “a body, must be funded with grain and gas, grain into the stomach, sprinkled in the six internal organs and gas to, and harmonize the five organs and blood, and the human capital to be born, so it is said that the spleen is the source of the latter day”.
