Plantar fasciitis is an aseptic inflammatory condition that can be caused by the long-term effects of pressure overload on the foot, such as prolonged overload hiking and climbing.
Plantar fasciitis can be relieved by adequate rest, physiotherapy, appropriate stretching exercises and correction by corrective equipment, but unless the incorrect forces on the bottom of the foot are completely changed, most people with plantar fasciitis are theoretically less likely to heal themselves.
