Palmoplantar pustulosis may be related to wearing a birth control ring, and to a lesser extent may be caused by localized infections, stress, and smoking. Palmoplantar pustulosis may be caused by metal allergies, including the metals chromium, cobalt, copper, and tin, which may trigger palmoplantar pustulosis if the patient is allergic to the material of the birth control ring. If the patient suffers from chronic acute tonsillitis, chronic sinusitis and other diseases, it may infect the organism, thus triggering palmoplantar pustulosis; if the patient’s daily mental tension, excessive pressure or skin suffers from trauma or infections and other stressful situations, all of them may aggravate the condition. In addition, the nicotine in tobacco may affect skin cells, leading to an inflammatory response that can trigger pustulosis palmoplantaris. Palmoplantar pustulosis may be related to the use of birth control rings, but it may also be caused by other factors, and patients are advised to go to a regular hospital to have the cause clarified.
